Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a man found dead in the Union lobby Sunday. MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor released no further information about the case on Monday. A member of the University of Michigan Men's Water Polo Team left a match at IM Sports-West on Sunday to find his car damaged.According to an MSU police report, the 1998 Chevrolet Prizm looked like someone had walked on the hood, roof and trunk and kicked in the front passenger-side door. The damage was estimated at $200. Police have no suspects, McGlothian-Taylor said. Two vehicles were rear-ended in a three-vehicle accident at Service and Harrison roads on Saturday. The driver of a 2005 Ford F-250 stopped suddenly, forcing the following vehicle, a 1996 Jeep Cherokee to also stop. The driver of a third vehicle, a 2005 Ford Escape, hit the Jeep, which in turn hit the F-250, according to an MSU police report. The driver of the Escape was listed as at fault. No one was hospitalized, McGlothian-Taylor said. An assault and battery took place in Lot 62 early Friday morning. The victim was a member of a fraternity that was hosting a dance at Demonstration Hall. He didn't allow the suspect entry to the dance and the suspect threatened to assault him, McGlothian-Taylor said. The victim said he was shoved into a truck parked in the lot and then hit in the face and upper body with closed fists by the suspect and four other unknown suspects. The victim had a small laceration on his cheek and refused medical treatment, McGlothian-Taylor said. The case is under investigation.Margaret Harding
