The first week of the NFL season is upon us and that means the return of fantasy football.
Here are a list of this week's studs, duds and sleepers.
Studs:
QB Brett Favre, Green Bay at Detroit, 4:15 p.m. Sunday
Favre always seems to carve up the Lions and this week should be no different, despite the fact that he is fighting an ankle injury.
Proof: The Packers destroyed the Lions at Ford Field last season, 38-10.
WR Joe Horn, New Orleans at Carolina, 1 p.m. Sunday
Horn had his way with the Panthers last season. In two games, he caught 12 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns.
Although Aaron Brooks is somewhat inconsistent, he knows how to find his No. 1 option.
RB Willis McGahee, Buffalo vs. Houston, 1:00 p.m. Sunday
Houston's run defense has been less than stellar and McGahee, who is finally 100 percent healthy, should be primed for a big day.
The Bills should be running the ball a lot due to a weak passing game, so that means a lot of carries, especially around the goal line, for McGahee.
Duds:
QB Drew Brees, San Diego vs. Dallas, 4:15 p.m. Sunday
Brees has three things going against him this week:
1) The loss of star TE Antonio Gates
2) A nagging ankle injury
3) A tough Dallas defense looking to take off some heads
WR Reggie Wayne, Indy vs. Baltimore, 8:30 p.m. Sunday
The Baltimore defense is back and could be better than ever.
This will be a tough matchup for Wayne, as he and Marvin Harrison will be hounded all day by the Ravens' hard-hitting defensive backs. Risky play.
RB Chris Brown, Tennessee vs. Pittsburgh, 1 p.m. Sunday
The good? Brown rushed for more than 1,000 yards and six touchdowns last year, despite missing five games with injuries.
The bad? The Titans traded for disgruntled Bills running back Travis Henry this offseason, which will cut into Brown's carries.
Sleepers:
QB Joey Harrington, Detroit vs. Green Bay, 4:15 p.m. Sunday
WR Brandon Lloyd, San Francisco vs. St. Louis, 4:15 p.m. Sunday
RB Larry Johnson, Kansas City vs. NY Jets, 1 p.m. Sunday.
