The MSU baseball team lost to No. 6 Florida, 13-2, on Saturday at McKethan Stadium. The Gators used an 11-run rally over the final three innings to defeat the Spartans.
The Spartans dug too deep a hole with three errors and 10 walks, contributing to their third consecutive loss. The Gators capitalized on five runs in the sixth inning as a result of four walks, two singles and two MSU errors.
Sophomore Ryan Basham and senior Erik Morris scored for the Spartans. Sophomore catcher Sean Walker finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. The Gators held the Spartans to seven hits, including two by Walker.
Craig Brookes allowed two runs on four hits in five innings but struck-out three Gator batters. Brookes (0-1) took the loss for MSU.
