A 25-year-old non-university student from Lansing was cited for misuse of university property at the Union Monday evening, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The man received a ticket when he was seen balancing his mountain bike on top of two hand rails on the building's south side stairs.McGlothian-Taylor said the report did not say if the man was on the bike or not. An 18-year-old female Rather Hall resident reported her backpack stolen from the entryway of her hall Saturday morning, McGlothian-Taylor said.The student told police she left her bag for 30 seconds while she checked the door at 7 a.m. She allegedly heard footsteps, but was unable to identify the suspect who stole her $20 hot-pink backpack.The bag allegedly contained a book, wallet, $30, keys, a cell phone, and a Red Bull drink.Police are looking for a suspect and are continuing investigation.Shannon Houghton
