Law college hosts a land use symposium

November 12, 2004

The MSU College of Law is hosting a symposium entitled "The Death of Poletown: The Future of Eminent Domain and Urban Development after County of Wayne v. Hathcock."

The event will take place from 1-6 p.m. Friday at the MSU College of Law building, featuring a discussion about the effect of Hathcock's overruling of the 1981 Poletown decision, which inspired an increase in the state's power to appropriate land for private urban development.

The symposium is open to students, practicing attorneys, legislators and legal educators, with property law experts participating.
