A 24-year-old male student injured his index finger at his part-time job Tuesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The student, who works at the Large Animal Clinic, was attempting to remove a halter from a cow just before 4 p.m. The cow jerked its head, smashing the 24-year-old's left index finger into the head gate.East Lansing Fire Department medics transported him to Lansing's Sparrow Hospital.• A wallet and day planner were stolen from a 68-year-old woman's 1999 Buick Park Avenue, she told MSU police.The St. Johns woman said the items were worth $42 and the alleged theft occurred Saturday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., McGlothian-Taylor said.When she returned from the MSU football game, she discovered she left the trunk of her car open, and the items were missing.• An 18-year-old female student reported several sexually vulgar phone calls on her cell phone between Oct. 10 and Friday, McGlothian-Taylor said.She told police she received three phone calls on Oct. 10 alone.There is a non MSU-related suspect, and officers are investigating, McGlothian-Taylor said.
