The 1st Annual Food for Thought 5K Run/Walk is an MSU Student Food Bank fund-raiser.

The event is set to take place at 9 a.m. May 8 in downtown Lansing's Riverfront Park.

Located in Olin Health Center, the food bank provides struggling need-based MSU students, such as groceries and toiletries, that they can't afford.

Monetary sponsorships, door-prize donations, race-worker volunteers and run/walk participants are needed.

The cost to participate in the event is $15 including a T-shirt fee before May 1 and $20 with T-shirt fee after May 1. The cost is $10 and $15, respectively, for entries with no T-shirt.
