Speech to focus on South African past

Andre Odendaal, an honorary professor from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, will be speaking at noon on Thursday in 201 International Center. "Heritage, History and Change in South Africa," is part of the MSU African Studies Center's Brown Bag series.

Odendaal has written seven books on apartheid, resistance and culture in South Africa.

He is the founding director of the Robben Island Museum, the first official heritage institution of the new democratic South Africa. The event is free and open to the public.
