RHA passes bill to add $10 karaoke fee

February 23, 2004

At Wednesday's Residence Halls Association meeting, a bill was passed by a 26-1 vote to amend the organization's bylaws regarding rental equipment.

The item most affected by the changes is RHA's karaoke machine. The changes allow for anyone affiliated with RHA, University Housing or the Department of Residence Life to rent the machine.

A refundable $50 deposit still is required to rent, but now a nonrefundable fee of $10 also will be charged.

Proceeds from the changes will go toward maintenance of the equipment and to broadening the CD library.

Currently, renters can choose from 176 CDs and more than 2,000 songs.
