Creationism not accepted theory

This letter is in response to the article "Evolution of a theory".

To call Creationism a theory is to give it far more credibility than it deserves. It severely misconstrues the definition of the word "theory."

According to The American Heritage Dictionary, a theory is "A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena."

Creationism is not a set of principles, has not been repeatedly tested, is not widely accepted and cannot be used to make predictions about natural phenomena.

It is simply a blanket, nonverifiable statement that "God did it" and has no place being compared to valid scientific theories.

Creationism is a religious belief, a faith, and nothing more.
