WEB ONLY: Women's cross country finishes second in Roy Griak Invitational

The MSU women's cross country team placed second at the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday in Minneapolis, Minn., edging No. 12 Columbia but falling behind No. 20 Arizona State.

No. 15 MSU's 122 points were just ahead of Columbia's 125, but well behind Arizona's posted 103 points.

Top Spartans were senior Michelle Carson finishing in fourth place with a time of 20:47 and Jamie Krzyminski finishing ninth in 21:02.

The invitational was hosted by the University of Minnesota at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. The race took place on a six-kilometer (3.7 mile) course.
