Junior forward John Minagawa-Webster scored two of his team-best five goals.

MSU continued its tie streak in the Big Ten (0-0-2) by coming up even against Northwestern on Sunday, 1-1, in Evanston, Ill. Minagawa-Webster scored in the first half, and Northwestern answered in the second, but the game and two overtime periods expired with no more tallies.

Lightning-quick goals helped the MSU men's soccer team rout Valparaiso on Saturday, 3-0, before natural lightning ended the contest early in Valparaiso, Ind.

Minagawa-Webster scored the first goal of the game after only 2:48 of play, and sophomore forward Ryan McMahen scored less than two minutes into the second half. McMahen added another goal later in the period.
