Speaker series to address HIV and AIDS

The MSU faculty will present a special speakers series on HIV/AIDS as a development crisis as part of their regular Friday forum.

On Sept. 19, Kim Witte, from the Department of Communication, will speak on preventing AIDS through entertainment education in Ethiopia.

On Oct. 10, Thom Jayne from the Department of Agricultural Economics will speak on measuring the effects of HIV/AIDS on rural households in Africa.

On Oct. 24, Bella Mody from the Department of Telecommunication will speak on analyzing the roots of the crisis and conditions in which media interventions can make a difference.

On Nov. 7, Edward Mazhangara from the Department of Agriculture Economics will speak on the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Malawi.

On Nov. 21, Harriette McAdoo from the Department of Family and Child Ecology will speak on HIV/AIDS and pregnancy in Zimbabwe.

All presentations will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in room 201 in the International Center.
