Take a peek behind the curtain and test drive the NEW StateNews.com today!

Expo offers free water screening for visitors

Visitors to the MSU Ag Expo can have their water tested for nitrate and triazine content at a free screening July 22-24.

The Michigan Groundwater Stewardship Program will conduct the testing. Visitors can pick up a sampling bottle and directions for collection from any county MSU Extension or conservation district office throughout Michigan.

The stewardship program also will have water quality and protection information resources at its booth.

Results will be mailed with instructions on how to treat the water if herbicides are found. All results will remain confidential.

The Ag Expo runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 22-23 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 24. Parking is available at Farm Lane and Mount Hope Road. The event and parking is free.

For more information on the event call (800) 366-7055 or log on to www.agexpo.msu.edu.
