Workshops celebrate Chicanas and Latinas

The ninth annual Dia de la Mujer Conference will take place Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Kellogg Center.

The conference is a meeting of Chicana and Latina women from all parts of the Midwest to celebrate and share information and discuss issues of concern.

This year's theme is "Abriendo Caminos, Mujer a Mujer," which translates to "Opening Pathways, Woman to Woman."

The day includes workshops, exhibits and entertainment focusing on the personal, professional, political and academic aspects of Chicana and Latina women.

Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and events begin at 8:30 a.m.

Admission is free for MSU students, $10 for nonstudents and senior citizens and $20 for general admission.
