Tennis plays Notre Dame

February 19, 2003

The MSU men's tennis team will host Notre Dame today in a rare, midweek contest.

The No. 66 Spartans will take on the No. 44 Fighting Irish (2-5), following MSU's first loss of the season Saturday against Ball State.

The 4-3 loss shattered MSU's longest winning streak in 36 years.

Sophomore Andrew Formanczyk (8-5), who missed the match against the Cardinals, will play today. But senior Jimmy McGuire (10-8), who also missed the last match, will sit this one out.

MSU hopes for a change in fortune today as the Fighting Irish have defeated MSU in four consecutive seasons.
