Baseball to hold 2 camps next month

Two camps hosted by the MSU baseball team will take place early next month.

The camps will run a week apart, leading off with the pitching and catching portion Feb. 1 and the hitting camp Feb. 8.

Morning and afternoon sessions are available for each camp at a cost of $60 per session.

Spartan head coach Ted Mahan, MSU assistant coaches, members of the team and selected college and high school coaches will oversee each camp.

Gymnastics starts season at Jenison

The MSU women's gymnastics team is set to open up the 2003 season with the MSU Invitational at 8 p.m. at Jenison Field House.

Along with the Spartans, No. 13 Oregon State and Auburn will also compete.


Track travels to Central

The MSU men's track team kicks off the season with the Chippewa Open at Central Michigan beginning at 4:30 p.m. today.

Competing along with the Spartans are Central Michigan, Northwood, Cornerstone and Saginaw Valley State universities and Alma and Rochester colleges.

This is a non-scoring meet.


Team hosts Wildcats

MSU's men's and women's swimming and diving teams open up 2003 with weekend meets against Northwestern and Ball State.

The meet against the Wildcats will be at 6 p.m. in the Charles McCaffree Pool at IM West while Saturday's action pits the Spartans and the Cardinals at 2 p.m.
