Center to offer free programs for faculty, staff, area students

January 6, 2003

The MSU Women's Resource Center will sponsor free programs this month.

The center sponsors at least 10 programs a month and gears the presentations toward faculty, staff and students.

Judy McQueen, educational program coordinator for the center, said the programs exist for multiple reasons.

"It is really important because it keeps men and women informed politically, financially and emotionally," she said.

McQueen, who has been with the center for 20 years, said the programs cover topics such as divorce, aging and child care.

Most of programs for faculty are during the lunch hour and programs for students are generally in the evenings to work around schedules, she said.

The series kicks off Jan. 16 with "Ready to Learn: Taming the Beast," which helps parents of young children use television as an educational tool.

For reservations to the session, call MSU Child and Family Care Resources, (517)432-3745 ext. 146 or e-mail cfcrassist@hr.msu.edu.

Programs continue throughout the month. For more information, visit the Women's Resource Center Web site at www.msu.edu/~wrc.
