If you're a fan of perky, catchy lyrics and bands with an energetic stage presence, then the 19Wheels show at Rick's American Cafe this Saturday could be the gig for you.
19Wheels' four members released "Sugareen" (produced by The Verve Pipe's Donny Brown and self-released) in September 2001. The band has played all over and put on a free show with Bliss 66 and Pushing 33 in the International Center over Homecoming weekend.
If you've heard any 19Wheels songs, they probably include "So Cool," "Broken" and "TV Queen," both of which have received a significant amount of local radio play. The band hails from Grand Rapids, but has acquired a significant local following.
Keep an eye out for Studiotone, who will also be playing at Rick's, and is planning to release their CD in the spring. Doors open at 7 p.m. and there is a $4 cover charge. You must be 21 years of age or older to attend.
