Student wins award in holiday contest

December 6, 2002

Studio art senior Heidi Campbell won the 10th annual Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center holiday card design contest.

Campbell's design features the slogan "May Your Season Be Bright" and a green background with two lights.

"You have a lot of creative students on campus," Kellogg Center General Manager Joel Heberlein said. "It makes perfect sense to tap into that aspect of the university. The contestants were designing for a private company, which is what they'll be doing after college."

Aside from winning this contest, Campbell serves as the student director of the College of Arts and Letters Alumni Board of Directors. She is also a recipient of the Robert L. Fiore Student Book Scholarship and a member of Aspire, an organization that supports the Kresge Art Museum.

She was a residence hall mentor, member of the Residential Option in Arts and Letters program in Abbot Hall and has been on the dean's list since she was a freshman.

The card will be mailed to more than 2,000 patrons and area businesses. For her show in creativity, Campbell receives dinner for two at the Kellogg Center State Room.

"It's quite an honor to be chosen to represent MSU and Kellogg Center like this," Heberlein said.
