Members of the Residence Halls Association participated in a conference at the University of Wisconsin Osh Kosh to develop program ideas and build leadership skills last weekend.

MSU's RHA came back from the Great Lakes Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls conference, Nov. 15-17, toting an award.

RHA won the award for best banner for a large school.

The banner went along with the theme of the conference. The middle of the banner read "Michigan State University," with different posters capturing the spirit of the '70s surrounding the perimeter of the banner. Sparty was incorporated in each of the posters.

RHA President Tim Liss said the criteria for judging the banner was creativity, originality, overall appearance, knowledge, reference of conference theme and descriptions of school.

"Winning the award for best banner was amazing," he said. "All the hard work we spent on the banner brought us closer together as a delegation."
