Award to be given for quality hall programs

The Residence Halls Association will recognize a few halls for quality programming for this semester.

The organization is accepting bids for the Hall/Organization of the Semester Award for different halls and organizations on campus. The bids are due at 7 p.m. Nov. 27 in the RHA office at G-29 Holden Hall or by e-mail at rhaevep@yahoo.com.

"The judging is really program-based," RHA External Vice President Derek Wallbank said. "The contest is going to recognize halls that put on very efficient and beneficial program toward the residents."

The organizations will fall under three categories: large hall, small hall and organizations, such as Council of Racial Ethnic Students and Council of Progressive Students, black caucuses and LBGT caucuses.

Bids must be submitted for the three best programs or events that the hall has put on for the semester, with an estimated cost, attendance, number of residents in the hall and in the particular group and a detailed description of one event, which the hall or group is planning to put on for the spring semester.
