Writers series starts Friday

MSU Libraries, Computing & Technology is hosting Michigan Writers’ Series, featuring readings and discussions with prominent Michigan writers. Tomorrow, poet Judith Kerman will speak in W-449 Main Library at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Kerman, who teaches English, humanities and Web design at Saginaw Valley State University, founded Saginaw’s Mayapple Press in 1977, and Earth’s Daughters, one of the oldest American feminist literary magazine. Kerman also has published seven books or chapbooks of poetry and a scholarly anthology.

Earlier this year, Kerman was selected as a Fulbright Senior Scholar to live in the Dominican Republic, translating and studying the poetry of Dominican women.

Admission is free.
