Four candidates for the MSU Board of Trustees will debate at 6 p.m. today in 145 Communication Arts and Sciences Building.

Bill Ballenger, editor and publisher of Inside Michigan Politics, will serve as moderator.

The 90-minute debate is sponsored by the Council of Graduate Students and The State News.

The event will include incumbents Colleen McNamara, a Democrat, Don Nugent, a Republican, state Sen. Joanne Emmons, R-Big Rapids, and United Auto Workers President Cal Rapson, a Democrat.

Questions for candidates can be submitted on The State News’ Web site, www.statenews.com.

A three-member panel of State News reporters and editors will question the candidates.

Students can contact the Council of Graduate Students or The State News for tickets, and may watch it live on campus cable channel 4.
