Board of Trustees, students to debate

Four of the candidates for the MSU Board of Trustee will debate at 6 p.m. Wednesday in 145 Communication Arts and Sciences Building.

Bill Ballenger, editor and publisher of Inside Michigan Politics, will serve as the moderator.

The 90-minute debate, sponsored by the Council of Graduate Students and The State News, will include incumbents Colleen McNamara, a Democrat, and Don Nugent, a Republican, as well as State Sen. Joanne Emmons, R-Big Rapids, and United Auto Workers Vice President Cal Rapson, a Democrat.

A three-member panel of State News reporters and editors will question the candidates.

Students can contact COGS or The State News for tickets or watch it live on campus cable channel 4.

Students also can submit questions for the candidates at www.statenews.com until Tuesday.
