Blood drive against Penn State to begin

The ninth annual MSU-Penn State University blood drive, “Defending Our Title, Defending the Blood Supply,” will take place from Nov. 4-18.

The 16 campus drives are sponsored by ASMSU, the undergraduate student government, Residence Halls Association, Greek Life, Capital Area Transportation Authority and the Case Hall student government.

The American Red Cross also is participating in the event, sponsoring 13 blood drives at the American Red Cross Donor Room at 1800 E. Grand River Ave. in Lansing.

Participants are asked to bring ID, be 17 years old or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, and know the names of the medications they have taken in the last month.

Those who participate will receive a T-shirt, first aid kit and a 20-ounce bottle of water.

Walk-ins are allowed, but appointments are preferred.
