Events

• The Red Cross Club will hold blood drives in remembrance of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on Thursday and Sept. 17. Thursday’s drive will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at the International Center and the drives on Sept. 17 will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at Shaw Hall and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at St. John’s Student Parish, 327 M.A.C. • As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Office of Racial Ethnic Student Affairs will present “Latinologues” at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Kellogg Center auditorium. The event, a comedy show featuring different Latino monologues, is also being sponsored by Culturas de las Razas Unidas and the department of Residence Life. Admission is free. • Abrams Planetarium presents shows for general audiences and families Friday-Sunday beginning Sept. 20 through Nov. 24. General audience shows are at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 4 p.m. on Sundays. Family shows are at 2:30 p.m. on Sundays. Art

• The Kresge Art Museum is displaying Joel Meyerowitz’s historic 1982 photograph of New York, “Blue Hour,” until Sept. 15. The exhibit, “Celebrate America’s Freedom: A Day of Remembrance,” opened Sept. 3 as a Sept. 11 remembrance. The display is part of a nationwide movement by the American Association of Museums and the Institute of Museums and Library Services. The photograph was purchased by the Friends of Kresge for the museum and was included in the spring exhibit “New York, New York.”

Lectures

• The Department of Art will hold “A Night of Slide Lectures” with MSU artists and graduate students Nitin Dutt, Harry Williams, Sarah Slobodzian and Kelly Tegen. The event, “Changing Planes,” will be held 7 p.m. Thursday in Room 108 of the Kresge Art Center. The four artists spent the summer traveling through India, Austria, Italy and New York and will be sharing and discussing their experiences.

Organization meetings

• Campus Crusade for Christ will hold its “Prime Time” meeting 7:30-8:45 p.m. Thursday in room N100 of the north Business College Complex. Meetings are held every Thursday.

• The Adventist Student Fellowship will hold a meeting 6:30 p.m. Friday at University Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 504 Ann St. There will be incredible dinners on Friday evenings, including vegetarian menus. • The Spanish Club presents its Romance Languages Film Series every Friday at 5:30 p.m. in room 206 of the Old Horticulture Building. This week, the film “La Stanza Del Figlio” will be shown.
