No. 11 MSU mens golf team will compete in the annual Northern Intercollegiate this weekend at the Indiana University Golf Course in Bloomington, Ind.
The Northern Intercollegiate is a fall preview for the 2003 Big Ten Championship, which Indiana will host May 2-4.
MSU tied for third place in the Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational Sept. 16-17, when they finished behind No. 2 Florida and No. 9 Oklahoma State.
All-American senior Eric Jorgensen led the team, tying for eighth place overall.
Of the 15 teams competing, nine are from the Big Ten, including defending NCAA National Champions No. 5 Minnesota. No. 7 Penn State and No.14 Illinois are among the other highly-ranked teams scheduled to play.
The first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament are scheduled for Saturday, with the final round of 18 holes scheduled for Sunday.
