Students make mural of McDonald House

August 1, 2002

Art students at Lansing Community College have been making a glass mural for the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan, 121 S. Holmes St. in Lansing.

A new art class, which began June 6, teaches students to make connections between art and community service. The students were finishing up work on the glass mosaic mural Wednesday.

About eight students were given a tour of the house and were later instructed to make sketches of their ideas. Ronald McDonald House representatives chose the final design, which the students worked on together.

The mural will be officially unveiled in September.
