The second of a three-part series on womens issues will take place tonight in the Union Green Room.
The series, called Borders, Barriers and Bridges, deals with various issues affecting women. Tonights discussion, featuring author Lynn Weber, focuses on barriers for women.
Weber, director of womens studies at the University of South Carolina, will begin her talk at 7 p.m.
This is a first for womens studies, said Jayne Schuiteman, MSU assistant professor of womens studies. Womens studies, as a discipline, is really at a point of transition nationally as well as on our campus.
The third and final part of the series, focusing on bridges, will be held April 2 and feature author, critic and feminist Bell Hooks.
