Kresge Art Museum

• Through April 7, “Art In Motion: Sculpture from the Kresge Art Museum Collection,” features 25 sculptures and works in other media from the permanent collection that are either literally or figuratively in motion.

Through April 7, “MSU Department of Art Master of Fine Arts Exhibition” displays the work of masters of fine arts students.

Through April 7, “New York, New York,” displays more than 40 20th century photographs and prints of New York City scenes, such as Central Park, Greenwich Village, bridges, skylines and streets.

Kresge Art Museum is on MSU’s campus. Admission is free. For more information call (517)355-7631. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Impression 5 Science Center

• Impression 5 features “Water,” a new aquatic exhibit exploring the properties of water, featuring water pumps, fountains, boat area, and locks that raise and lower boats. Admission is $4.50 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and $4 for students. Impression 5 Science Center is located at 200 Museum Drive in Lansing. For more information call (517)485-8116. Michigan Library and Historical Center

• Through Aug. 31 the featured exhibit is “Schooner in the Sand: Unlocking the Secrets of a Great Lakes Shipwreck,” a special exhibit looking at the mystery surrounding an Upper Peninsula shipwreck in the 1840s. The Michigan Library and Historical Center is located at 717 W. Allegan St. (two blocks west of the Capitol) in Lansing. Admission is free. For more information call (517)373-3559. Michigan Women’s Historical Center and Hall of Fame Belen Gallery

• Through April 14, “Century of Women,” an overview of the progress of Michigan women in the 20th century. More than 100 photographs are featured, representing the accomplishment of women and the work of women’s organizations, with topics like “The First Feminists,” “The Achievement of the Right to Vote,” “Violence Against Women” and “Women’s History.” The gallery is located at 213 W. Main St. in Lansing. Admission is $1 for students, $2.50 for adults. For more information call (517)484-1880. Hours: noon-5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

MSU Museum

• Through Sept. 29, the MSU Museum displays “Storytelling through the Mail: Tall Tale Postcards,” an exhibit of nearly 100 examples of humor, exaggeration and tall-tale myths dating back to the early 20th century.

Through Oct. 27, “The Age of Packaging,” an exhibit on the history, innovation and advancement in packaging, with ancient examples along with products from Coke and Kellogg’s that have evolved during the years and some that are no longer around.

Nokomis Learning Center

• The Nokomis Leaning Center features exhibits focusing on the woodland Native Americans of the Great Lakes - specifically the Ojibway, Ottawa and Potawatomi tribes. The center is located at 5153 Marsh Road in Okemos. Admission is free, but a $1 donation is suggested. For more information call (517)349-5777. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, noon-5 p.m. Saturday.

R.E. Olds Transportation Museum

• The R.E. Olds Transportation Museum houses the world’s largest museum collection of Oldsmobiles. It is located at 240 Museum Drive in Lansing. Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for students and seniors. For more information call (517)372-0529. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
