Field hockey senior forwards Cooper, Halstead named to NFHCA North/South All-Star Game

Two Spartan field hockey seniors forwards, Bridget Cooper and Maureen Halstead, were selected to participate in the NFHCA North/South All-Star Game.

Halstead was an All-Big Ten second-team selection. She finished this year with 28 points including 13 goals. In her MSU career, she tallied 30 goals with 64 points.

Cooper finished the 2001 campaign with 33 points, which tied for sixth best in an MSU season. She closed her career with 43 goals, tied for third best all-time at MSU, and 96 points, which is fourth best all-time at the school. In addition to her All-Star Game selection, Cooper was also named 2001 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and was named to the NFHCA West Regional first team on Wednesday.

Sophomore forward Sophie Rosmalen also made the first team, and freshman midfielder Annebet Beerman and freshman back Judith van Haeringen made the second-team.

The All-Star Game is Saturday at Kent State in Kent, Ohio.
