The first question you need to ask yourself when perusing this weeks new releases is a simple one: Do we really need this album?
The first answer you should come to is, no, no we most certainly do not.
Perhaps the only redeeming quality to this album is that it features two brand new songs. However, one cannot help but feel this is just another attempt by the record label to squeeze even more money from the BNL faithful and put out some more product, no matter the quality, before the Christmas holiday season. Boo, hiss.
The best thing about this disc is not the CD at all, but the neat BNL retrospective introspective insert that accompanies it. In it, hear firsthand tidbits about all of the songs on the disc straight from the boys themselves.
In many ways, Disc One is similar to its live album, Rock Spectacle - their hits and not much else. The album does mix it up well, however, with every album being represented, but most of the hits it became famous for were off its latest releases.
This album gets an average rating because it does feature just about everything BNL youd want to hear, but not much else.
Heres hoping that Disc One remains without a disc two on your CD rack until BNL can crank out some super-dooper special a couple years down the road.
