  • A Spartan Spectacular will invade Breslin Center at 8 p.m. Saturday. Performances include the Spartan Marching Band, the MSU Wind Symphony, Jazz Band, Color Guard, Percussion Ensemble, Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble and the MSU Chorale. Tickets are $7.50 and $9.50.   • The MSU Tower Guard will host free tours of Beaumont Tower from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be refreshments.

    Sunday

  • There will be an Artist Intensive on Sunday in the East Lansing Recreation & Arts, Bailey Community Center, 300 Bailey St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. For more information call (517)337-4442.

  • The Creole Gallery, 1218 Turner St. in Lansing, is presenting an exhibit honoring Hispanic Heritage Month. It features five Hispanic artists and their visions of their heritage. The exhibit runs through Oct. 28. For more information call (517)487-9549.

  • The Campus Center Cinemas will be showing “Legally Blonde,” “The Fast and the Furious” and “Moulin Rouge!” all weekend in Wells Hall. The movies are free for students living in resident halls with a MSU ID and $2 for all other students and the general public.   • “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” starring Ann-Margret will be performing at the Wharton Center all weekend. There are five performances with various prices. Tickets range from $33 to $50 for the Friday and Saturday shows at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., tickets range from $30.50-$47.50.   • Bob McCoy and Wanda & Kitty will be performing at the Cappuccino Cafe, 1500 W. Lake Lansing Road. McCoy will be performing on Friday while Degan takes the stage on Saturday.   • The International Center will show its Homecoming spirit this weekend. On Friday, they will have “Homecoming Hoopla” featuring live music, spirit contests and more from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. “Swing Dance Night” will take place on Saturday with the Rhythm Society Swing Orchestra providing live entertainment, also from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. For more information, call (517)355-3354.

  • The University Activities Board will be representing Homecoming Week 2001 to the fullest this weekend. Today, there will be a “Noontimes: Homecoming Pep Rally” from noon to 1 p.m. in the Union Lounge featuring Sparty, MSU Motion, Spartan Soul and the Spartan Marching Band.
