Mens tennis team defeats Wisconsin, splits Notre Dame before losing to Ball State, 5-3

The MSU men’s tennis team spent the weekend at the Tom Fallen Invitational in South Bend, Ind., taking on Wisconsin, Ball State, Purdue and host team Notre Dame.

The Spartans defeated Big Ten opponent Wisconsin 4-2 in singles competition.

The team split with Notre Dame 1-1 and fell to Ball State 5-3.

Junior Jimmy McGuire led the Spartans by going 2-0 in singles competition.

Freshman Cameron Marshall also added a win with his third set tiebreaker victory in the singles competition.

Doubles weren’t very positive for the Spartans, as they lost 3-0 to William & Mary.

The Spartans take the court again Friday in the ITA Men’s All-American in Stone Mountain, Ga.
