The No. 6 MSU womens field hockey team rallied late to defeat Cornell 4-3, tallying its fourth consecutive victory at Penn State on Sunday.
Freshman back Judith van Haeringen scored two goals in the match, including the game winner. It was van Haeringens second consecutive game-winning goal. She also notched the deciding shot against No. 15 Penn State on Friday.
Junior forward Julia Adams and senior forward Maureen Halstead claimed other goals for the Spartans (8-3). Adams came on a penalty stroke with 13 minutes remaining in the game.
Cornell goalkeeper Kaitlin Tierney posted 11 saves, but MSU sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Hess two proved to be all the Spartans needed to snatch the win.
MSU takes the field again to face No. 4 Michigan at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Duffy Daugherty Football Building.
