New road offers traffic headaches

You are not alone in your Trowbridge Road extension complaints (”Reader gets red at Trowbridge Road,” SN 8/29). I personally called the MSU Department of Police and Public Safety on Tuesday last week to complain that traffic was backed up onto southbound U.S. 127 because of the short light. I was informed that an officer would be sent to check it out.

More than a week later nothing has been done. The new ramp is great, but the proper traffic signals were not installed, making the new highway connecting it to campus dangerous.

Will it take a death at Trowbridge Road and Harrison Avenue before someone realizes this intersection does not work and is dangerous? Until some changes are made, I would rather travel across campus than take the shorter Trowbridge Road route.
