Lansing company to hold auditions

August 31, 2001

Mirage Technologies, Inc., 6219 Norburn Way in Lansing, will be shooting scenes for a music video for Flint rapper Scurvy today and is looking for extras. The position is unpaid, but extras will be featured in wide shots of the concert and in some close-ups of the crowd.

Auditions start at 3 p.m. at the amphitheater in Louis H. Adado Riverfront Park, 333 N. Cedar St. in Lansing.

The video is for the single “Flintstone Kids,” which will be released nationally and may be aired on MTV and BET, among others.

Heather Beaton, an executive assistant at Mirage Technologies, Inc., said anyone interested in participating in the video should show up before 3 p.m. at the Riverfront Amphitheater dressed appropriately to register.

“We ask that people dress as if they were going to a concert,” Beaton said. “We do ask that people not wear red, black, or white.”

Beaton said the reason is that the colors do not blend well on film. She also said that extras should avoid busy prints and large logos or trademarks.

Beaton said the shoot will last no later than 8 p.m., and participants under 18-years-old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All extras must register on site and sign a release form prior to shooting.

“We’re looking for as many people as possible,” Beaton said. “It’ll be a great experience.”
