A 25-year-old Harrisburg, Penn., man found himself in a chase Tuesday with three 19-year-old female students for shirts he was selling from a stand in Wells Hall. The students took off with eight shirts and ran toward the Red Cedar River to throw the shirts in the water because they found the phrase written on them offensive, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said. The shirts included the words: Freshman girls, get them while theyre skinny. The man tackled the student running with the shirt, Willis said, and the other two attempted to help her. He was able to restrain two of the students until police arrived. The students were charged with larceny and the case forwarded to the Ingham County Prosecutors Office.
