Police briefs 01/25/01

Police are looking for someone who threw 22 chairs out a sixth floor West Holden study lounge window between Jan. 12 and Jan. 14.A window screen had been broken so that the chairs, valued at $40 each, could be tossed out, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said. Total damage is estimated at $1,200.The property damage carries a felony charge punishable by five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Police have a suspect and an investigation is pending.

  • A 20-year-old Kellogg Center employee reported her stereo stolen from her car Tuesday.The CD and stereo player was taken between 7:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. from a car parked in Ramp 4 near the Kellogg Center, Willis said.The car had not been locked.The stereo is valued at $70. Damage to the car is estimated at $50. Police have no suspects.
  • A 27-year-old man reported his gym bag stolen from an IM Sports-Circle locker at about 6 p.m. Tuesday.The man had placed a lock on the locker when he went to work out, but it had been removed when he returned, Willis said.The bag contained colognes, a Palm Pilot computer, a pager and money. Losses are estimated at $500. Police have no suspects.
