Police briefs 12/07/00

A 21-year-old female student reported being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend around 2 a.m. Wednesday, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.The woman said she was fighting with her ex-boyfriend in her Spartan Village home because she had removed some of his property from the apartment without his permission, Willis said.The fight continued to escalate until the man pushed the woman to the ground and struck her in the head before leaving the area. She did not wish to press charges.

  • A 33-year-old vagrant was found sleeping in the lobby of the Kellogg Center by personnel around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, Willis said.MSU police were contacted after personnel made repeated requests for the man to leave the building and he refused. This particular vagrant is known to MSU police and already had one outstanding trespassing letter on campus, Willis said.
  • A vending machine on the first floor of Bessey Hall was broken into between 10 p.m. Monday and 10 p.m. Tuesday, Willis said.Custodial staff reported finding the machine’s locking pin pried out and an unknown amount of cash and product was taken. Damage to the lock is valued at $30.Police have no suspects.
