MSU staff member Patricia Johannes practices ringing the bells on the carillon Thursday in Beaumont Tower. The Beaumont Tower Carillon hosts a magical moment this weekend, complete with Christmas carols, bell-ringing and - it looks like - a December snowfall.
The concert will ring through campus beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday. The second annual Holiday Carillon Sing-Along is free.
The carillon, which has 49 bells, is one of only 10 in the state. Chemistry Professor William McHarris and Johannes, both of whom have entertained audiences around Beaumont Tower before, will accompany each other on the bells, along with MSU carillon students. They will lead the sing-along, which will follow a half-hour long recital by carillon student Julia Walton.
