Police briefs 11/16/00

The block “S” engraved in the concrete on the north side of the Administration Building was damaged between noon Monday and noon Tuesday, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.An MSU Grounds Maintenance worker reported several scratches across the “S,” which was apparently caused by dragging the nearby cement benches across it, Willis said. Police have no suspects. Damage is estimated at $500.

  • An 18-year-old male student reported his backpack stolen from the Main Library between noon and 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, Willis said. The man left his bag unattended at a table in the library while he went to the bathroom. When he returned it was gone, Willis said.The bag contained $245 worth of textbooks and a calculator. Police have no suspects.
