Police briefs 11/03/00

A 21-year-old female student reported her Spartan Village apartment broken into between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 3 a.m. Wednesday, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.The screen on the rear window of the apartment had been pried off and the back window was found propped open, Willis said. The woman also found several clumps of mud on her carpet, but nothing had been moved or disturbed inside the home.An investigation is underway.

A 21-year-old male student reported his bike stolen from a bike rack at Wells Hall between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday, Willis said.The bike was a Scott USA 24-speed and was valued at $4,000. It had been locked to the rack with a cable lock.Police have no suspects.SARA LUNEBURG
