Police briefs 10/09/00

A 21-year-old male student was caught with fireworks in his possession during a routine speeding stop, MSU police Sgt. Brian McDaniel said.The man was stopped at Shaw Lane and Red Cedar Road at 7:30 p.m. Saturday by an MSU police officer. When the officer approached the car he spotted the fireworks inside the vehicle, McDaniel said. The fireworks were confiscated and no prosecution will be sought against the man.

  • A window was broken at Demonstration Hall at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, McDaniel said.A campus group was hosting a skating party at the building, but had to turn away patrons when the event reached capacity. An unknown person waiting outside then broke out the window, McDaniel said.Damage to the window was estimated at $50. Police have no suspects.
