2nd annual Art Attack! takes place in lansing

Scattered graffiti cans and a field of worn grass on the corner of Washington Avenue and Malcom X Street were the remnants of Art Attack!, a competition Saturday meant to encourage the integration of art into the community through an on-site art contest, Michigan bands and local vendors.

City council passes entertainment ordinance

A recent ordinance change by East Lansing City Council will increase the number of businesses required to acquire an entertainment license, but will not impact “dancing in East Lansing,” Mayor Pro Tem Nathan Triplett said. The amendment to Ordinance 1278 was passed during council’s May 15 meeting and went into effect last Wednesday.

Although I’ve formed great friendships here, some of my favorite weekends at MSU so far have been when my close friends from home come to visit. After seeing the same set of faces every day, it’s refreshing to catch up with those who you haven’t seen in months. 'The Addams Family' to make Wharton debut

The kooky characters and supernatural scenarios of a creepy American classic have come together once again to tell the tale of an unusual family. The musical comedy “The Addams Family,” which focuses on the life of the family many remember from Charles Addams’ cartoons and the classic TV show, opens Tuesday night and will run until Sunday in Wharton Center’s Cobb Great Hall.

E.L. brings unique blend of sounds for Folk Festival

On Friday, the Great Lakes Folk Festival will invade East Lansing, bringing music and different cultures together for the three-day event. The festival, — entering its 10th year of existence — will feature 17 musical groups and artists, a variety of food vendors and a Green Arts marketplace, which will showcase goods made by vendors who reuse and recycle materials.
