During the month of June, there are tons of fun ways to celebrate Pride, through parades, alt proms, donating to your favorite LGBTQ+ organizations, or reading LGBTQ+ literature. Another option is to shop local, and support your city’s LGBTQ+ community and Lansing has a diverse array of LGBTQ-owned small businesses to choose from.

Michigan Court of Claims suspends enforcement of abortion ban

The Michigan Court of Claims Judge Elizabeth Gleicher has suspended the enforcement of MCL 750.14, Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban. This injunction does not overturn the ban, but temporarily bars its enforcement should the U.S. Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade,  the 1973 ruling protecting a woman's right to an abortion.

State Rep. Matt Maddock booted from House GOP Caucus

 “I don't speak for the caucus, but I think it's quite unfair for him to go after conservative, hardworking Republicans in the House and Senate and target them for pure selfish gain,” State Rep. Beau LaFave said of House colleague Matt Maddock, who was removed from the House GOP Caucus Tuesday night.
