Throughout the fall semester, the Features desk has covered a variety of fun, quirky events throughout Greater Lansing — almost too many to count. After much deliberation, we narrowed down a list, in no particular order, of our favorite festivals, performances and guest speakers that have become a part of the MSU experience this fall.
Before my mass collection of Pink wear, my knowledge of Victoria’s Secret and the Angels, or models, was slim. In retrospect, while I might have been the last of the girls to invest in a push-up bra, I’m glad that my experiences with Victoria and her secrets were limited. Because I was more or less kept in the dark, I didn’t have to deal with the onslaught of self-image struggles other girls dealt with, provoked by the airbrushed Angels.

With more than 45,000 students attending MSU, an award-winning student radio station and hundreds upon hundreds of musicians, East Lansing still only has a few hot-ticket concerts every year. Last year, MSU hosted rapper Mac Miller, and this upcoming April, students can see Carrie Underwood at Breslin Center. Why more musicians don’t include East Lansing on their tour stops completely dumbfounds me. If I could have it my way, there are a few musicians I would love to visit East Lansing.

It was purchased for about $4 billion, making it the fourth-highest buyout Disney has made, behind its purchase of ABC, Pixar and Fox Family. Lucas, who gets 40 million Disney shares out of the deal, will become the second-largest noninstitutional shareholder backing Disney, falling behind the deceased Steve Jobs.
