DURHAM, N.C. — An upset win over No. 5 Duke on Tuesday would have been a chance to dispel the Spartans’ toughest critics. It would have ended a 13,600 mile “gauntlet” with games against four AP top 25 opponents in the span of a month that could have propelled MSU (4-4 overall) into the rest of non-conference play.

DURHAM, N.C. — Just four days after defeating Wichita State University to take third place in the “Battle 4 Atlantis” tournament in the Bahamas, the unranked MSU men’s basketball team (4-3 overall) kept the frequent flyer miles rolling by traveling to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on the No. 5 Duke Blue Devils. After one half of regulation, the Spartans are tied with Duke, 35-35.

After taking a 32-29 lead into halftime, the No. 24 MSU men's basketball team is advancing in the winner's bracket of the 'Battle 4 Atlantis' tournament in the Bahamas after defeating the St. John's Red Storm by a final score of 73-62.
After already traveling out to Honolulu, Hawaii and New York, New York, the No. 24 MSU men's basketball (2-2 overall) team opened the holiday break in the Bahamas to take part in the 'Battle 4 Atlantis' tournament. In the opening round of the tournament, the Spartans squared off against St. John's (2-1 overall) and took a 32-29 lead into halftime.

In a basketball game that went back and forth until the final buzzer sounded, a combination of freshman free throws and the shooting stroke of senior guard Eron Harris prevented a major upset at Breslin Center on Sunday night, as MSU defeated the Eagles 78-77 in thrilling fashion.
