"Goals 4 Money"

When MSU senior gymnast Kathryn Mahoney — known to her teammates as “Money” — fractured her C6 vertebra in December during gymnastics practice, first-year graduate student Piotr Pasik wanted to do something to help her with recovery, despite not meeting her until February.

Playing intramural soccer in a walker because he was born with cerebral palsy, Pasik understands the struggles Mahoney will go though as a disabled gymnast on campus, being partially paralyzed after her accident. Considering himself to be very blessed, Pasik said he wants to help Mahoney adjust.

For every goal Pasik scores on his soccer team, sponsors will donate money to the Kathryn Mahoney Fund through the MSU Federal Credit Union. This season, he already has scored 61 goals, hoping to raise enough money to support Mahoney with things medical insurance will not cover.
